Its autumn in the US. During the month of September and October, fall colors along with the Pumpkin Patches are in every corner of the neighbourhood making the surrounding very colorful. Children dream of carving their pumpkin every fall. However, nowadays it’s hard to find a sprawling pumpkin patch in a farm. City of Fremont has some pumpkin patches and Halloween activities around this time. Since my childhood days I have been visiting these places with my friends and I still enjoy visiting these places.

The October Pumpkin Patch at Ardenwood Park/Perry Farms, Fremont

Ardenwood has one of the most robust Pumpkin Patches in the Bay Area. There are events occurring every day in the month of October. Families have made it a yearly tradition to visit this place with their kids, choose a pumpkin, and spend the day on these attractions.

  • Riding the Hay wagon,
  • climbing the Hay pyramid
  • Photo cut out
  • Wheel barrow photo ops
  • Small Tire playground
  • Haystack maze
    The spooky haunted train runs Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights on the two weekends before Halloween . The ride includes a 30-minute performance on the 90 min tour that starts at the station across the parking lot from the pumpkin patch.

  • Parking is free and there are a few accessible parkings that are clearly marked.
  • Make sure to park in the parking lot. There are extra parking spaces in the field but the ground is very uneven
  • The pumpkin patch is fully accessible but the ground is uneven in some places
  • They have accessible portable restrooms outside the patch
  • The spooky train is completely wheelchair accessible with a ramp. The crew out there are very helpful

General tips

  • There is an abundance of parking located in both the designated parking lot and all along the side of the farm as you drive in.
  • Make sure to wear covered shoes as the area is very dusty
  • Cash only is accepted.
  • Admission is $1 on weekends.
  • Ages 2 and under are free.
  • Weekdays 12-7p it is free.
  • Hayrides are ONLY on Saturdays & Sundays
  • Spooky rides starts 2 weekends before Halloween. You can get the tickets at the train station. Make sure to reach 30 minutes early to make sure your group gets to sit together.

The Ghost House, Fremont

The event takes pace in a historical 19th century Carriage House.The Ghost House is a wonderful family-oriented event for all ages.This happens in the last two weeks of October.

ABC pumpkin patch, Fremont Hub

This is located in the Fremont Hub Shopping Center! This pumpkin patch offers tons of inflatable fun for children ages 2-12. Besides the giant inflatable fun, there are lots of different varieties of pumpkins to choose from and a wonderfully decorated “memory zone” to take pictures of your little ones.
