Roses have this uncanny ability to express different emotions perfectly. As the Valentine day gets closer, I am reminded of our visit to Paris, arguably one of the most romantic city in the world. I especially remember the beautiful flower shop Cler Fleurs on the Rue Clergies Avenue on the left bank of Paris. The beautiful array of colorful roses laid out in front of the shop seemed to declare the onset of spring even in peak summer. The Rue Cler market and neighborhood is very Parisian. It has shops of all types. You will find a wonderful selection of speciality food stores, pastry shops, butchers, delicatessens, cheese specialists, fish mongers, green grocers, chocolate shops and of course the beautiful flower and fruit stands. The street is completely accessible, although cobbled. You can leisurely stroll from end to end sampling the freshest fruits displayed most impeccably. Stop by and possibly take a picture at Cler Fleurs proudly displaying 100 varieties of fresh flowers. Enjoy the famous french fromagerie with 400 different variety of cheese and very friendly people. And lastly, stop at one of the Cafe Terraces for lunch and do some people watching. Remember to pick up some fruit before you head out to Eiffel Tower.
