Mattawoman creek is a tributary of tidal Potomac River originating in Maryland, Charles County and flowing through Prince George County into DC. It is a large natural habitat of flora and fauna, and wetland is host to variety of reptiles and amphibians. These areas are attractive to anglers for national fishing tournaments as well as to large fish-eating birds like herons, egrets, and bald eagles. Summertime this creek attracts lots of water sporting events .
