Winter Break is about to end and it’s time for the schools to reopen. This weekend we are wrapping it up with a short trip to the Butterfly town of Pacific Grove to view the beautiful clusters of Monarch Butterflies at the Monarch Butterfly Sanctuary. These butterflies arrive in October and can be seen from October to February. They cluster together on Pine, Cypress, and Eucalyptus tree which is an amazing sight. Clustered on the trees they would suddenly take flights as the day progresses. It’s a stunning sight to see them flying. Try to visit that place after 9 am as butterflies don’t wake up early. Around 55 degrees is the right temperature when you can view them. This year 13000 butterflies have been counted so far.

This place is very welcoming and the volunteers are always eager to explain. The walk through the Sanctuary is a very satisfying experience. Kids can also take some pictures at the entrance with the butterfly prop in the background.

Wheelchair accessibility ♿️

This place is completely wheelchair accessible. There is accessible parking just opposite the street. There is an accessible restroom at the entrance to the park. The path to the sanctuary is fairly even but it can have some puddles when it rains. There is a slope so wheelchair users need to be a little careful.
